Join us for the third annual Bavarian Dachshund Fest!
Where: Frankenmuth, Michigan at the Jaycee Pavilion in Heritage Park
When: Saturday, August 23, 2008, from 11:00am to 4:00pm - Rain or shine!
What: There will be dachshund games and contests: Wieners Bobbing for Wieners, Best Trick, and Wiener Dog Races! There will also be a Costume Parade and Best Costume Contest, raffles, booths selling dachshund goodies of all kinds, and much, much, more! Cost: Bavarian Dachshund Fest is free to attend and participate in games and contests. Please consider buying raffle tickets and/or donating to DRNA's doggy medical fund to help support dachshund rescue. Don't forget to check out the DRNA booth full of fabulous fund raising merchandise - dachshund t-shirts, jewelry, bumper stickers, tote bags, and more!
Sullivan's Black Forest Brew Haus and Grill will be selling delicious food, or pack your picnic basket. Just bring your dachshunds and "honorary dachshunds" for a day of fun and fund raising to benefit dachshund rescue!
Please keep your dog on a leash or in an exercise pen at all times and remember to clean up after them. The selling of dogs is not permitted at this event. Anyone doing so will be asked to leave.
This is a great opportunity to teach your children not to approach dogs they don't know. Always ask owners if their dogs are stranger and kid friendly. Never reach into a pen full of dogs you don't know, and don't allow your own dogs to stick their nose in the pen. Remember that there are many rescued dogs at this event and some of them may have been abused in the past and are afraid of strangers, children, and other dogs. Please help us to make this a safe and fun event for everyone.
